Golden Hour

Supported by: Ease into your Friday evenings at Golden Hour, a laid-back summer series where music, nature, and community come together as the sun begins to set. From May through September, the Garden comes alive with live music, picnics, and friends gathering to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. NEW THIS YEAR! Thanks to the support of the Huntsville Music Office and the City of Huntsville’s Office of Multicultural Affairs, admission is FREE during Golden Hour events, beginning at 5:00 p.m. through closing*. *Friday closing times are 8:00 p.m. in May, June, July, and August, and 7:00 p.m. in September.Golden Hour takes place in the Cedar Glade, but the music drifts throughout the Garden, creating the perfect atmosphere to explore, relax, and unwind. Bring a blanket, stroll the paths, or settle in with friends as the evening unfolds. Drinks—both alcoholic and non-alcoholic—will be available for purchase at the Garden Bar. Guests can also enjoy made-to-order concessions from Fern & Feast On-The-Go, perfect for a casual meal in the Garden. As the sun falls, the Garden fills with people connecting with nature, listening to live music, enjoying a picnic, and making the most of Friday nights all season long. Where Memories Take FlightGuests of all ages will enjoy sharing in the magic of safely releasing live butterflies into the Purdy Butterfly House. Our release program begins with a brief presentation on butterflies and their habitat, followed by participation in the safe restoration of our indoor butterfly population. Don’t forget your camera, these photo opportunities are not to be missed! Butterfly Releases take place on select Saturdays throughout the May – September, and each program lasts approximately 30 minutes. Registration is required, and space is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot today! A Mother’s Day Tea at the GardenCelebrate the women who help our lives blossom at an elegant and heartwarming Mother’s Day tea in the beautiful Carriage House. Designed as a joyful, multi-generational experience, this special gathering invites families to slow down, connect, and honor moms, grandmothers, aunties, motherly figures, and cherished friends. Guests will be seated at beautifully arranged shared tables, creating a welcoming atmosphere where stories are shared, laughter lingers, and new memories are made. Enjoy a curated flight of four hand-blended teas from local favorite Piper & Leaf, each steeped with care and selected to complement the spirit of the day. Tea service is accompanied by an exquisite assortment of bites, including classic finger sandwiches from Fern & Feast Bistro paired with local favorites: vegan scones from Fern & Fest Bistro and macarons from Little Macs. As gentle music fills the Carriage House, take time to celebrate the moment together. Dress in your favorite spring attire and capture keepsake photos beneath our elegant floral photo arch. Each ticket includes Garden admission for the day.
