Sunshine Community Health Center encourages families to schedule Well Child Checks and Sports Physicals throughout August. đ Be one of the first 20 patients seen for these services at either clinic location and receive a FREE Sunshine CHC puzzle at checkout! Itâs our way of saying thank youâand giving your family a screen-free activity as the days get darker. 𩺠Whatâs the Difference?Well Child Check (WCC)A WCC is a comprehensive health visit that focuses on your childâs overall well-being and development. It includes: Growth and development monitoring (height, weight, BMI, milestones) Full physical exam Vision and hearing screening (age appropriate) Immunizations Behavioral and mental health screening Nutrition, sleep, and safety guidance A chance for parents to ask questions about development, school readiness, and more Sports Physical (Pre-Participation Physical Exam)A Sports Physical focuses specifically on your childâs ability to safely participate in athletic activities. It includes: Review of personal and family medical history Heart and lung exam Joint and muscle function checks Screen for conditions that may increase sports injury risk Clearance form for school or sports leagues â ď¸ These are not the same exam! A Sports Physical is more limited and does not replace a Well Child Check. About the eventDear Body⌠An Intuitive Eating Group Therapy ExperienceAre you tired of chronic dieting, emotional eating, or feeling at war with your body? Sunshine Community Health Center invites you to join Dear Body, a supportive group therapy experience designed to help you rebuild a peaceful relationship with food and your body through the principles of Intuitive Eating. Over the course of eight weekly Zoom sessionsâheld every Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:30 PM, July 1 through August 19âyouâll explore themes such as: Breaking free from diet rules and binge cycles Trusting your body to know what it needs Letting go of guilt and food shame Understanding your emotional connection to eating Releasing body shame and challenging weight stigma Debunking diet culture myths and recognizing false âwellnessâ claims Whether youâre struggling with binge eating disorder, diet mindset, or simply want to find more balance in your approach to health, this group offers a safe and compassionate space to grow and heal. đĄ Register by June 23rdThis deadline allows time for us to connect with each participant individually before the first session and help clarify your personal goals. đ Call 907-733-9292 to register or learn more.
