You never know who will drop by...let your community circle know that this is a great opportunity to have a chat with our Mayor, Glenda Ledford. A little bit about My House: "We are a unique non-profit that operates several for-profit ventures that offer employment and training you youth age 16-24, with preference given to homeless youth, and the goal of offering financial support back to the organization to support operating costs and services. Our philosophy is to offer a hand up, not a hand out. Youth coming for services are expected to work toward goals and make progress, accept help to remove barriers, and identify challenges personally that keep them from being successful." A little bit about Gathering Grounds Cafe: "Gathering Grounds Cafe trains and employ homeless youth, offering job skills and experience at being barista’s, making proper tea, making soup and panini sandwiches, customer service and teamwork .  Profits from the Cafe support client services, and help provide sustainability to our organization."

The Mat-Su College Robotics Club is hosting the Mat-Su College Sumo Robotics Competition, which will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Glenn Massay Theater. The competition welcomes all high school and college students, who may enter individually or as part of a team. Participation is free, and winners will be awarded a three-credit tuition waiver at Mat-Su College. The Robotics Competition will follow international Sumo Robotics rules. Each robot will be autonomous and not require direct human intervention.  The rounds will be three minutes and are won by one robot pushing the other robot out of the sumo ring.

Make your plans now to join the Wasilla Chamber of Commerce as we host the 2026 State of the City of Wasilla, presented by the Mat-Su Health Foundation. The State of the City will be held downstairs in the banquet room at Evangelo's Restaurant. ***Advanced Registration is Required for this luncheon*** ********* If you are interested in speaking at one of our Chamber Luncheons, please email Jessica detailing who you are, your company, and what you would like to speak about.
