Join the City of Wasilla Mayor Glenda Ledford for Morning Meeting with the Mayor at My House! This happens every Tuesday at the Gathering Grounds at My House. Join the City of Wasilla Mayor, staff from My House and members of the community for good coffee, great conversation and amazing people. You never know who will drop by...let your community circle know that this is a great opportunity to have a chat with our Mayor, Glenda Ledford. A little bit about My House: "We are a unique non-profit that operates several for-profit ventures that offer employment and training you youth age 16-24, with preference given to homeless youth, and the goal of offering financial support back to the organization to support operating costs and services. Our philosophy is to offer a hand up, not a hand out. Youth coming for services are expected to work toward goals and make progress, accept help to remove barriers, and identify challenges personally that keep them from being successful." A little bit about Gathering Grounds Cafe: "Gathering Grounds Cafe trains and employ homeless youth, offering job skills and experience at being barista’s, making proper tea, making soup and panini sandwiches, customer service and teamwork .  Profits from the Cafe support client services, and help provide sustainability to our organization."
