The Salt River Schools Native Language and Culture team hosts Storytelling Night with students, staff, families, and the Community on Thursday, Feb. 5, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Accelerated Learning Academy. A light meal will be served from 5:30-6 p.m. in the cafeteria while supplies last. Storytelling begins at 6:15 p.m. in the lecture hall, where listeners will be treated to traditional O’odham and Piipaash stories. This event is free and open to all. Questions? Running, jogging, walking, and rolling along Highland Avenue begins at 9AM! We are excited to welcome special guest Deanna Scabby, a member of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Tribal Council & Salt River Schools Education Board! Mrs. Scabby will lead participants in warm-up exercises using her best dance moves! NEIGHBORHOOD REMINDER During the Fun Run, the Salt River Police Department will close off Highland Avenue from Center Street to Country Club Drive. Meeting notices are digitally posted on this website and physically posted at the Education Administration at least 24 hours prior to each meeting. Executive sessions may be called by the Education Board to discuss as permitted under applicable laws.
