Watercolor Painting: Trees & Masking Technique

Create your very own forest using the masking technique. Using torn masking tape, we lay out trees on watercolor paper, paint a vibrant background in wet technique and paint the trees in dry technique. We will complete one painting in this class.

REGISTRATION is 12:00-12:15 p.m. Registration is required. Six people per team. 20-minute gameplay. You must arrive at your designated game time or risk losing your spot. Minecraft Escape Room: The Minecraft Village is on fire! Work together to solve puzzles, gather clues, and rescue the village animals before time runs out. Recommended for ages 9+. Animal Crossing Escape Room: Isabella lost the fireworks storage keys while preparing for tonight’s celebration. Trace her chores to find the keys before time runs out. Recommended for ages 9+. Pokémon Escape Room: There’s been a break-in at Pokémon Academy! Assist Officer Jenny in piecing together the evidence to stop Team Rocket before they escape with stolen items. Recommended ages 9+. Fun with Percussion by Robyn Nolen — Learn rhythm patterns like waltz, reggae, and blues to join music jams, even without a stringed instrument. Break out of an escape room, assemble a kids craft, create your own cosplay costume, take photos with cosplay groups, play roleplaying games, sample various tabletop board games, enter our Cosplay Showcase, challenge others in video-game tournaments, watch live comic-con sketch comedy, attend various workshops by award-winning authors and artists, and so much more. Join us at MegaMania!!, the library's annual ComiCon style event.  Learn some easy & fun techniques to write a persona poem in the voice of your favorite fictional or historical character! All ages. Read more about the Writer in Residence program.  Logan Phillips works in poetry and culture. Holding collaboration as a core creative practice, he has contributed to a wide range of performance, music and community-centered education projects in the US, Mexico, Colombia and beyond. Phillips teaches is a volunteer organizer with Tucson Birthplace Open Space Coalition (TBOSC), an intercultural effort to strengthen Indigenous sovereignty at the base of S-Cuk Ṣon / Sentinel Peak / ‘A’ Mountain. His second full-length book of poetry and creative nonfiction, Reckon, is forthcoming from The University of Arizona Press in 2026. The Writer in Residence Program is made possible by the Arizona State Library, Archives, and Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
