Please note: The sessions on February 2 and February 9 will be offered as self-directed open practice time. Formal instruction will resume on February 16, 2026. Chen-style Taijiquan (Tai Chi) is widely acknowledged as the ancestor of all other styles of Taijiquan. This class will introduce the Chen-style Taijiquan form, Silk-reeling Exercises and Wuji Qigong. The Chen-style Taijiquan form is soft and graceful with strong rooted stands that will help students to develop strength, balance, coordination and an understanding of basic Taiji principles. Silk-reeling Exercises are a series of spiral movements that promote muscle relaxation and flexibility by reducing physical tension and strain. Wuji Qigong (standing meditation) will help students cultivate internal energy (qi) with proper body alignment for better internal energy flow, enhancing their immune systems and reducing physical and mental stress.

Come and learn about important aspects of adult cardiac care from our prominent physician at Sequoia Hospital, Dr. Adam Harmon. Dr. Harmon is a board-certified surgeon in surgery and thoracic surgery, with training from Albany Medical College, Maimonides Medical Center, and the State University of New York Health Sciences Center at Brooklyn. He has performed nearly 4,000 heart surgeries, with clinical interests in adult cardiac surgery electrophysiologic and general thoracic surgery. This program is provided in collaboration with Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital and Friends of the Belmont Library. No registration required!
