Designed for adults new to nature journaling, this hands-on session will introduce simple yet effective techniques to observe, sketch, and document the natural world with confidence. Through guided exercises, participants will learn how to use drawing, painting and written observations to create engaging journal pages. Chrissie, a member of the Nature Journal Club, ASBA, and NYBG, will share her expertise in watercolor art and field journaling, helping you develop a mindful and creative connection with nature. Come fly like a butterfly, hop like a bunny, stomp like an elephant, and tiptoe like a mouse! In the JAMaROO Kids Dance and Creative Movement Classes, children are introduced to the basics of dance. Classes include a warm-up circle, stretching games, imaginative dance, partner dance, and free dance. Dance and creative movement is a wonderful way to foster self-expression, while building gross motor skills, which we know are so essential to a child's ability to be independent and confident! In all of our JAMaROO Kids classes, children are introduced to different genres of music from around the world, and are encouraged to use their imaginations.  At JAMaROO Kids, all of our music, dance, and yoga curriculum is developed to support and foster all five key areas of development: Cognitive, Speech & Language, Gross Motor Development, Fine Motor Development, Social and Emotional.

Gem Painting is taking the crafting world by storm. It’s the perfect mixture of paint-by-numbers and mosaic art, without the paint! Instead, tiny gems make a beautiful pattern and sparkle in the light. Gem Painting is a recurring series that invites creative makers to gather together in the same place on a regular basis. If you are interested in participating, be sure to register for the series, attend the first date, and then drop in on the dates that work for your schedule so you can work on your masterpiece.  Participants are not required to attend every session, but we will only be accepting new participants on a monthly basis. As this project aims to gather creative makers in the community, each participant's gem painting materials will be labeled and held at the library until the month is complete. Check the schedule below for when we will provide canvases to new participants and when we will only allow pre-existing participants to drop in. July 1, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM -- Canvases available for new participants July 6, 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM -- Drop in for pre-existing participants. New canvases will not be available at this session. July 20, 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM -- Drop in for pre-existing participants. New canvases will not be available at this session. July 29, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM -- Drop in for pre-existing participants. New canvases will not be available at this session. This is a fun and relaxing activity that’s good for mental health and wellness.
