Chen-style Taijiquan (Tai Chi) is widely acknowledged as the ancestor of all other styles of Taijiquan. This class will introduce the Chen-style Taijiquan form, Silk-reeling Exercises and Wuji Qigong. The Chen-style Taijiquan form is soft and graceful with strong rooted stands that will help students to develop strength, balance, coordination and an understanding of basic Taiji principles. Silk-reeling Exercises are a series of spiral movements that promote muscle relaxation and flexibility by reducing physical tension and strain. Wuji Qigong (standing meditation) will help students to cultivate internal energy (qi) with proper body alignment for better internal energy flow, which will enhance their immune systems and to reduce physical and mental stress.

Baby Bounce and Rhyme Time

Bring your bouncing baby to our weekly playtime, which is full of nursery rhymes and songs you can do together to stimulate your baby’s development. Ideal for newborns up to 18 months old, but all are welcome.

Gem Painting is taking the crafting world by storm. It’s the perfect mixture of paint-by-numbers and mosaic art, without the paint! Instead, tiny gems make a beautiful pattern and sparkle in the light. Gem Painting is a recurring series that invites creative makers to gather together in the same place on a regular basis. If you are interested in participating, be sure to register for the series, attend the first date, and then drop in on the dates that work for your schedule so you can work on your masterpiece. Participants are not required to attend every session, but we will only be accepting new participants on a monthly basis. As this project aims to gather creative makers in the community, each participant's gem painting materials will be labeled and held at the library until the month is complete. Check the schedule below for when we will provide canvases to new participants and when we will only allow pre-existing participants to drop in. February 3, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM -- Canvases available for new participants February 8, 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM -- Drop in for pre-existing participants. New canvases will not be available at this session February 24, 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM -- Drop in for pre-existing participants. New canvases will not be available at this session This is a fun and relaxing activity that’s good for mental health and wellness. Come give it a try and socialize with your fellow community members. This program is intended for adults and seniors.

This introductory course provides an overview of leading conversational AI tools, including ChatGPT, Bing AI, Google's Bard, and Anthropic's Claude. Students will gain hands-on experience interacting with these systems and learn how they are revolutionizing fields from content creation to customer service. Over the duration of the course, students will: · How to create an account with various AI platforms · Understand the underlying technology powering conversational AI · Learn techniques for properly prompting ChatGPT, Bard and Claude to get optimal responses · Evaluate the strengths and limitations of these tools · Explore current and future applications of conversational AI Through lectures, demonstrations and hands-on activities, students will develop core competencies in conversing with AI systems and leveraging them for a variety of purposes, including general learning, practical tasks, document/image creation and more. Class will encourage group discussions to enable an exchange of techniques and experiences. By the end of the course, students will have access to all the AI platforms and acquire the specialized skills in prompting conversational AI agents and applying their capabilities to solve problems and enhance productivity. Whether you want to utilize these technologies professionally or just explore their possibilities, this course will provide a solid foundation in the current state of AI assistants and where they are headed.
