Join us for Family Storytime for all ages in our program room! This storytime series is suitable for all ages and will feature stories, songs, rhymes and dances, all to encourage the development of crucial early literacy skills. Parents and children will listen together, learn together, and sing together. Storytime is limited to the first 100 families, with a maximum of 2 adults per family group. Please bring a yoga mat or blanket to sit on.

Join Cupertino Poet Laureate Keiko O'Leary in this fun and interactive workshop. You'll discover the many ways learning poems by heart can enrich your life, and Keiko will share her top tips that make memorizing poems faster and easier. About your workshop leader: Keiko O’Leary has been writing poems since the sixth grade and has seen the value of poetry to enhance life for over 30 years. The practice is rooted in the migration of Ilocanos to the U.S. in the early 1900s, following American colonization of the Philippines. As the second-largest Filipino ethnolinguistic group in the U.S., Ilocanos carry a rich weaving heritage. Participants will explore iconic design patterns, their symbolism, and try weaving on small looms. In November, the the Cupertino Library Adult Nonfiction Book Discussion group will talk about All the Beauty in the World: The Metropolitan Museum of Art and me by Patrick Bringley.(February 2023) Patrick Bringley was working a prestigious job in Editorial events at the New Yorker Magazine when his beloved brother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Already disenchanted with hi high pressure job at The New Yorker, Bringley quit and found less emotionally demanding new employment and a kind of refuge as a security guard at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. All the Beauty of the World is a recounting of Bringley’s decade-long employment at the Metropolitan, forging relationships with his co-workers at the museum discovering his own favorite art works, and his encounters with visitors to the museum, from the ghoulish enthusiasm of school children viewing ancient Egyptian mummies, to his appreciation of lost, confused museum goers who stumble upon magnificent artworks they might have missed seeing had they not been lost and confused at that moment. “I think they are right to stumble around the Met discombobulated….None of us knows much about this subject—the world and all of its beauty.” For accessibility accommodations (ex.
