  In May, the Cupertino Library Adult Book Discussion Group will talk about the Novel The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa. Narrated by the Housekeeper, a struggling single mother of a 10 year-old son, who has taken a job caring for a brilliant retired math professor recuperating from serious injuries after a car accident. The Professor can remember his lifetime of mathematical work, but his short term memory works only for 80 minutes at a time. Both the Housekeeper and the Professor gradually learn how to cooperate and communicate with one another. The Cupertino Library Adult Book Discussion Group meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 11 am and on the third Thursday evening at 7pm. All meetings are held in Room 201B. Join us for a fun and creative Beginners Basket Weaving workshop. Whether you're a seasoned crafter or a complete newbie, this workshop is perfect for anyone looking to learn the art of basket weaving. Spend some time with us and create your very own handmade basket to take home. Don't miss this opportunity to unleash your creativity and learn a new skill! All materials and tools to create a small basket will be provided in this workshop. Artist and Weaver: Menlo Park, CA based artist, Linda Tapscott, has been honing her skills as a basket maker for the past several years. Originally a mixed-media artist, she blends her interest in fiber art, natural materials, and upcycling with basket sculpture. Moving from 2D to 3D has been an exciting process for Linda. Tapscott has exhibited her artwork throughout the Bay Area, including the Sanchez Art Center 50/50 Show in 2017 and 2023. Through her membership in the Bay Area Basket Makers Guild, she has been able to showcase her work at various galleries and museums.
