El Sobrante Library distributes free nutritious meals after school on Thursdays and Fridays to students 18 and under (while supplies last). The pick-up time is between 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm. Please eat meals at the library. We have tables set up in our Meeting Room, or you can eat your meal outside.  The meals are provided by West Contra Costa Unified School District Food Services and supported by the State of California.

Fiber Artist Gynna Clemes will teach us the art of petal painting -- using dried flowers and water to make natural dye paint. Each participant will have the opportunity to pain with prepared petal paints on a selection of greeting cards and learn how to make their own petal paints. Come play chess every 2nd Saturday at 11-12 p.m. at El Sobrante Library, starting November. This event is for ages 10-100 but beginning chess skills are required as this is not an instructional class. Instructor TC Ball from West Coast Chess Alliance will referee each session.
