Join us for a fun, hands-on introduction to sewing! In this drop-in program, we'll guide you through the basics of using a Baby Lock Jubilant sewing machine, including winding a bobbin, threading the machine, and running some simple stitches. Whether you're a complete beginner or just need a refresher, everyone is welcome to drop by and learn at your own pace! Participants aged 7 and younger are welcome to attend with caregiver supervision.

Minhwa is traditional Korean art that captures the essence of everyday life and desires in the Chosun era (1392-1910). In this 3-hour workshop, you'll learn the cultural significance of Minhwa and create your own piece using authentic Korean materials. What you'll learn: Origins and cultural importance of Minhwa in Korean history Traditional symbolism and common motifs Color theory in Korean art Basic painting techniques using Hanji and pigments Space is limited and registration is required.  Due to high demand, we ask that community members sign up for a single occurrence of this series so that as many community members can participate in this experience as possible. Chen-style Taijiquan (Tai Chi) is widely acknowledged as the ancestor of all other styles of Taijiquan. This class will introduce the Chen-style Taijiquan form, Silk-reeling Exercises and Wuji Qigong. The Chen-style Taijiquan form is soft and graceful with strong rooted stands that will help students to develop strength, balance, coordination and an understanding of basic Taiji principles. Silk-reeling Exercises are a series of spiral movements that promote muscle relaxation and flexibility by reducing physical tension and strain. Wuji Qigong (standing meditation) will help students cultivate internal energy (qi) with proper body alignment for better internal energy flow which will enhance their immune systems, and reduce physical and mental stress.  Space is limited. First come, first served.

We're inviting all knitters, aspiring or experts, to join the Knitting Circle! The Knitting Circle meets in person at the Foster City Library every second and fourth Friday of the month, from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Bring your current knitting project to unwind, socialize, troubleshoot and cast on! We will also have simple knit-alongs, where all knitters work on the same project! While this is not a formal instructional class, Knitting Circle members collaborate together to work on basic knitting skills so we can confidently knit, purl, cast on and bind off. Beginners welcome!
