\ \ \ \ \ Riverbottom Park Sept 9, 2026 Registration is required for this event. Registration Link Details Subject to Change. On September 9, 2026, Fresno Audubon will conduct a field trip to Riverbottom Park in northwest Fresno. We will meet in the parking lot of the Target store at El Paseo Shopping Center at Herndon and Hwy 99 at 7:45am and go from there. . Riverbottom Park, a part of the San Joaquin River Parkway Trust, is alongside the Riverside Golf Course and the river bluffs. It forms a gorge-like corridor which attracts many birds, including migrant flycatchers, orioles, several species of warblers, tanagers, vireos, and more. Also, sparrows, finches, towhees, hummingbirds, kestrels, hawks, falcons, and even Bald Eagles have been seen there. . The Park circuit consists of about a two-mile walk which includes an incline going down to the river bottom and coming back up. Wear hiking boots and bring water and snacks. .
