Teen Tech Tutors will help adults with their Computer/Device Questions during 30-min sessions to help you get started, so you can take those skills and continue to explore and learn on your own! Registrants can bring their own portable devices and/or work on a library computer. Wifi is available in the library. Teen Tech Tutors can help you with: -Basic email questions -Basic computer questions -How to access Library-provided e-resources (e.g. Libby and LinkedIn Learning) -Basic formatting and general use of MS Word/Google Docs and Basic functions for MS Excel/Google Sheets Teen Tech Tutors CANNOT help you with: -Any sort of device repair -Installing hardware, software or program updates on your device -Provide word processing services (typing on your behalf, etc.) -Provide private lessons, or accept payment or remuneration of any kind -Recommend products for you to buy (e.g., computers) -Do your online shopping, or place ads for you (e.g., eBay, Craig’s List, Amazon consignment sales, want ads, etc.) Please note that the tutors and library staff may end the session whenever they deem fit. Please make an appointment through library website or by phone (510-245-2420).

Join your friends at Hercules Library for music, rhymes, flannel board stories, and book-centered fun every Saturday! We'll have two identical back-to-back storytimes with limited space in each: 10:00-10:30am in the Children's Library (limited to 75 attendees) 10:30-11:00am in the Large Conference Room (limited to 65 attendees)  Library storytime is a great way to help young children develop their early literacy and social skills while building a lifelong love of learning. Plus, it's a lot fun! Best for children ages 5 and younger with a caregiver, but all ages and abilities are welcome. For special accommodations, please contact the Library with 72 hours notice.

This powerful resource is backed by an industry leading team of veteran experts who provide library patrons with free live online help such as navigating the various benefits available to veterans of the U.S. Military, academic tutoring and support, and career assistance. VetNow is also for military spouses, children or dependents in school, and anyone transitioning out of the military. Presenter Susan Kantor-Horning is the Electronic Resources Librarian for the Contra Costa County Library. Her responsibilities include managing and providing support for the Library's digital collections.

Honoring Veterans Day 2025 with Healing, Strength, and Resilience Hercules Library is honored to partner with Veterans Yoga Project (VYP)—a national nonprofit transforming the lives of Veterans, service members, military families, and communities through the power of mindful resilience.  Join us for a special Veterans Day event featuring Leo Herod, a dedicated Yoga and Meditation Teacher with VYP. In this engaging info session, Leo will share the heart and mission of Veterans Yoga Project and explore how yoga supports healing from trauma, with special attention to Veterans and their families. The event will conclude with a calming, guided yoga session led by Leo in the library’s private, peaceful conference room—an opportunity to experience firsthand the grounding and healing tools VYP shares every day. Whether you're a Veteran, a supporter, or simply curious about the power of mindful movement, we invite you to join us for this meaningful and inspiring event.
