The FKL Book Sale will be held Sun May 18 from 10am - 4pm in the employee parking lot at the Library. There will be various genres for sale including non-fiction, general fiction, mysteries, cookbooks, art books, children's books, and more! Find some great deals at this twice-yearly event, happening each Spring and Fall. The Friends also host a small book sale inside the library (by the library's hold shelves) where you can browse and purchase book titles, music CDs, and DVDs for all ages, all year long. These shelves are regularly refreshed with new materials. All proceeds benefit the Kensington Library. Thank you for your support!

History is full of it, and Californian history is ESPECIALLY full of it: the good, the bad, the horrifying and the wondrous. Want to discuss it all? In partnership with the Kensington Public Library, the El Cerrito Historical Society is launching YESTERYEARS, a book club about the Golden State’s past. Our May meeting examines Helen Hunt Jackson’s 1884 novel Ramona, the romantic melodrama focused on a young woman of Scottish and American Indian ethnicity and largely catalyzed the idealized visions that would define American impressions of Southern California.
