10,000 Memories Partition, Independence, and WWII in South Asia Los Altos History Museum will present a newly created exhibition, "10,000 Memories: Partition, Independence, and WWII in South Asia," on display Jan 29 - May 24, 2026, illuminating the largely unknown story of the 1947 Partition of India and Pakistan. Inspired by the book 10,000 Memories, the exhibition was developed in collaboration with The 1947 Partition Archive, a Berkeley-based nonprofit. Debuting in Los Altos before traveling statewide and beyond, the exhibition features first-hand accounts, photographs, and multimedia storytelling from those who experienced Partition, or whose family lived through it. Following the fall of the British Indian Empire and the creation of India and Pakistan, millions were displaced amid widespread violence. All tastings are free with your ticket purchase. When And Where To Check-In Check-in will open at 5:00 pm (event begins at 6 pm) so you can come early to avoid long lines and grab a bite at one of our great restaurants before heading out to taste. Check-in locations are Veterans Community Plaza at the intersection of Main and State Streets, as well as Diamond Brokers of Los Altos, 333 First Street. Please do not forget your ID, as we will check ID for ALL attendees. Food Please drink responsibly and taste on a full stomach! Unfortunately, Health Dept. rules do not allow food in non-restaurant tasting sites. Restrooms Most of our tasting sites are fairly small businesses, so they do not have restroom facilities that can handle a crowd. Their restrooms will not be available to Bubbly Stroll attendees. Public restrooms will be available inside State Street Market at 170 State Street. Parking Please consider taking a yellow cab or Uber or Lyft to the event instead of driving. If you do drive to the event, please note that no ticket is needed for designated drivers accompanying you who will not be tasting. Free public parking is available throughout Downtown Los Altos. Can I bring my baby? Sure, you can bring your baby to the Bubbly Stroll. Please just be cautious with strollers as many of the businesses participating as tasting sites are somewhat small and do not allow strollers inside. Does my friend who will not be drinking need a ticket? No, anyone tagging along who will not be tasting wine does not need a ticket. The event will be held rain or shine.
