General Information The Planning Commission performs duties and exercises power and authority with regard to planning, subdivisions, zoning, zoning administration and other land use regulatory controls as prescribed by ordinance and state law. The Planning commission consists of seven (7) residents of the Town of Los Gatos, each serving a 4-year term. Applicants are asked by Council to demonstrate knowledge of the Town Code and its land use and planning policies. The Commission has several standing committees and individual Planning Commissioners also represent the commission on a number of Council-appointed committees.  Committee terms are for 1 year and are appointed by the Planning Commission Chair. The Planning Commission meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, in the Town Council Chambers at 7pm.  Commission meetings are broadcast live on KCAT-15.  Live and archived videos are also available online. All meetings are open to the public.

Celebrate our nation’s 250th Sesquicentennial by participating in our Handwriting the Constitution community art project. Participants will transcribe portions of the U.S. Constitution on large foamcore whiteboards using black felt-tip markers. Participants at all levels of artistic skill are welcome. The transcriptions will be assembled into a single large-scale collective artwork-the entire U.S. Constitution written by diverse hands-and will be installed for the public in Los Gatos. Participating in the handwriting sessions can be meditative, thought-provoking, and reflective. We hope that participants will have a renewed sense of the importance of, and appreciation for, our Constitution. We will collect comments, impressions and observations from participants about their experience. Join us at NUMU for our monthly, self-guided figure drawing sessions! Each session will take place in our Flick Drawing Studio with a live model, easels, newsprint paper, and pencils. You are welcome to bring additional materials.  We will begin each two-hour session warming up with two and five-minute poses, followed by ten and twenty-minute poses. There will be a scheduled break midway through the session. All experience levels are welcome, but please note this is an uninstructed session. This is an opportunity to draw a live model and to connect with peers.
