Gem Painting is taking the crafting world by storm. It’s the perfect mixture of paint-by-numbers and mosaic art, without the paint! Instead, tiny gems make a beautiful pattern and sparkle in the light. Gem Painting is a recurring series that invites creative makers to gather together in the same place at the same time every week. If you are interested in participating, be sure to register for the series, attend the first date, and then drop in on the dates that work for your schedule so you can work on your masterpiece.  Participants are not required to attend every session, but we will only accept new participants every month. As this project aims to gather creative makers in the community, each participant's gem painting materials will be labeled and held at the library until the month is complete. Check the schedule below for when we will provide canvases to new participants and when we will only allow pre-existing participants to drop in. May 1-- 11:00-12:00 -- Canvases available for new participants May 8 -- 11:00-12:00 -- Drop in for pre-existing participants May 15 -- 11:00-12:00 -- Drop in for pre-existing participants May 22 -- 11:00-12:00 -- Drop in for pre-existing participants May 29 -- 11:00-12:00 -- Drop in for pre-existing participants This is a fun and relaxing activity that’s good for mental health and wellness. Join us for a 60-minute walking tour led by Marine Mammal Center staff. Hear inspiring stories of marine mammal survival, the inner workings of the hospital, and how you can make a difference for these vulnerable patients. Library staff will be in attendance to help with any questions and provide a brown bag lunch. Transportation will be provided. This event is a field trip to the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito for adults, 55+. Pick-up and drop-off time, location, and other transportation details will be emailed to registered participants. Online registration is required, and all registrants must fill out this form. Filling out the form is not a guarantee of registration. Library staff will reach out to confirm successfully registered attendees.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask staff!
