Engage in mindfulness meditation exercises and movement practices that you can incorporate into your daily routine. Mindfulness and meditation are practices that involve focusing your attention on the present moment, cultivating awareness, and promoting a sense of calm and clarity. Everyone will gain new skills and tools to help dissolve stress and long-held anxieties. Participants will build personal inner tools of reflective inquiry, curiosity, self-compassion, and self-trust. Each session will include time for questions and answers.  Due to high demand, we ask that community members sign up for a single occurrence of this series so that as many community members as possible can participate in this experience. The Draw Together Silver Series is a five-part class and art studio designed for adults aged 55+. We will come together to participate in an artistic endeavor while promoting community and connection in a safe and inclusive space. Participants are encouraged to engage in conversation and share their finished art with the group. Classes will cover subjects from creative doodling and watercolor to mixed media greeting cards. Materials for this program are generously supplied by MagiKids and their mission to support the intellectual health of youth through Magic the Gathering. This drop-in weekly activity is intended for school-aged youth as part of Power Up Afternoons. Gem Painting is taking the crafting world by storm. It’s the perfect mixture of paint-by-numbers and mosaic art, without the paint! Instead, tiny gems make a beautiful pattern and sparkle in the light. Gem Painting is a recurring series that invites creative makers to gather together in the same place at the same time every week. If you are interested in participating, be sure to register for the series, attend the first date, and then drop in on the dates that work for your schedule so you can work on your masterpiece.  Participants are not required to attend every session, but we will only accept new participants every month. As this project aims to gather creative makers in the community, each participant's gem painting materials will be labeled and held at the library until the month is complete. Check the schedule below for when we will provide canvases to new participants and when we will only allow pre-existing participants to drop in. This introductory course provides an overview of leading conversational AI tools, including ChatGPT, Bing AI, Google's Bard, and Anthropic's Claude. Students will gain hands-on experience interacting with these systems and learn how they are revolutionizing fields from content creation to customer service. Over the duration of the course, students will: · How to create an account with various AI platforms · Understand the underlying technology powering conversational AI · Learn techniques for properly prompting ChatGPT, Bard and Claude to get optimal responses · Evaluate the strengths and limitations of these tools · Explore current and future applications of conversational AI Through lectures, demonstrations and hands-on activities, students will develop core competencies in conversing with AI systems and leveraging them for a variety of purposes, including general learning, practical tasks, document/image creation and more. Class will encourage group discussions to enable an exchange of techniques and experiences. By the end of the course, students will have access to all the AI platforms and acquire specialized skills in prompting conversational AI agents and applying their capabilities to solve problems and enhance productivity. Whether you want to utilize these technologies professionally or just explore their possibilities, this course will provide a solid foundation in the current state of AI assistants and where they are headed. Please note: If you are planning on creating an account for any of the tools we will be using in the class, you will need to have access to your email, so please ensure you have your email passwords ready for verification. Additionally, you may need to verify your account through a text message, so please ensure you have your cell phone available during the class. If you would like to use your own computer or phone/tablet, you will need to have access to your passwords and email accounts, including Google and Apple (if you are planning to download the app on your phone or tablet).
