Join Sandy and Kent for a family-friendly line dancing class! Exercise your brain and body and enhance your balance while dancing to a variety of international music. No partner needed and beginners welcome! You are welcome to practice before and after by checking out their special playlist for this class. This class will take place in the Mitchell Park Bowl. (In the event of rain, the class will move to the Midtown Room inside the Mitchell Park Library.) Sandy and Kent have taught line dancing throughout the Bay Area for ten years. Learn more about them on their YouTube channel. Registration is not required. If you register, you will get an email reminder for the program including a link to the class playlist to practice.

Learn how to support your friends, families, and neighbors by becoming certified in Mental Health First Aid. In this two-part training, you will learn how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. This training is intended for adults who are at least 18 years old. After the training, you will be able to: Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges Recognize common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges Understand how to interact with a person in crisis Know how to connect a person with help Use self-care tools and techniques This is a two-part training: a 2-hour, self-paced virtual training and a 4-hour in-person training. To receive certification, participants must complete the virtual training at least one week prior to the February 21st in-person training. The in-person training includes a break for participants to get lunch on their own.  Registration is required. Please register directly with Kennya Rodriguez at Momentum for Health at [email protected] to get access to the virtual training and additional details. Trainings are conducted by Momentum for Health, a non-profit organization in Santa Clara County that helps people achieve mental and emotional health, discover their potential, and fully participate in life.
