Learn to sew in the library makerspace! In this beginners workshop, you'll learn the basics of how to use a sewing machine and create a simple project to take home! For tweens and teens, 9yrs to 18yrs, no experience necessary. All classes for the month cover the same project; please only register for one class per month! Reminders: Parents/ legal guardians and participants must complete a "Maker Safety Waiver" and parents will be asked to remain present in the library during the entirety of the event Please allow ample time for parking and to check in to the event by 1pm. Spots are held for 15 minutes past the workshop start time. After 15 minutes open spots are optioned to drop-in students. This class runs 2hrs long. Depending on the participant, they may finish early. Please check in with volunteers or staff if you have questions about pick-up times.

If you’re a seasoned artist, someone crafty, DIY enthusiast who likes to dabble, come check out Drop-In Maker Space. Our volunteers and community experts are there every Monday night to assist with starting a new project or helping to get over the next hurdle. The Maker Space is equipped with a Cameo Sillhouette Pro for all your crafting needs, as well as an Epilog Fusion Pro Lasercutter and the Ultimaker s5 3D Printer so there's no limit to what you could create. The Maker Space even has multiple sewing machines available for avid stitchers looking for a workspace, machine, or volunteer to help them finish a project. Like any good creator, the Maker Space is always evolving, so Drop-In to see what’s new. You don’t have to be high-tech to use the Maker Space. If you just need some room to spread out and get messy, make it in the Maker Space. Drop-In Shop is for Adults 18 and over only. Maker Safety Waiver required to participate in hands-on projects.

The Pleasant Hill Library is looking for motivated teen volunteers for the summer! Join our volunteer team, help your community, earn community service credit, and gain valuable work experience!  Registration for the orientation meeting is required in order to apply as a volunteer & space is limited. Please be sure to register with an email; an application will be emailed to you following confirmation by staff.
