Have you ever considered starting your own business? Is now the time to finally make that leap to self-employment? Have you started a side business that you’re ready to get serious about and take to the next level? The Shasta-Cascade SBDC, WBC at JEDI, and Shasta Public Libraries are teaming together to help you do just that.  The SBDC is now holding office hours in the Burney library on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.  Our small business mentors are available by drop-in from 10 am – 1 pm. No prior paperwork is needed to become a client and receive no-cost consulting services by a small business expert.

In this monthly one-hour group we offer a friendly and casual conversation focused on getting your new business questions answered, highlighting local resources and classes to help you succeed, as well as a facilitated discussion with networking opportunities. Network with and get support from other entrepreneurs Get your business development questions answered Learn more about upcoming WBC at JEDI workshops, classes, and opportunities We will discuss topics such as: Time management, schedules, calendars Work/life balance Simple record keeping Budgeting strategies, saving for a rainy day or business slump How to know if you need a business license Other topics will be covered as the need arises Meet Your Facilitator: Tola Levison, Business Development-Startup and Asset Building Specialist Tola currently assists people who have a dream of business ownership and/or are taking steps to start the business of their dreams.  She developed and managed welfare-to-work programs utilizing self-employment as a welfare-to-work strategy. Her innovative approaches to outreach and retention have received the recognition of the FIELD /Aspen Institute. The MS Foundation, and CFESS (Californians for Economic Self-Sufficiency) Ms. Levison has served as a resource person for CAMEO (California Association for Microenterprise Opportunity).
