Uke players of all skill levels are invited to come together to strum, sing, learn, teach, share, and most of all, have fun.We welcome everyone at all skill levels from the newest uke noobs to total uke stars. If you’ve never strummed or sung a note in your life, or even if you are just shy, you are welcome. We do a strum along format as well as go around the room offering the chance to lead a song to everyone. This makes it easy to be as anonymous as you like while you’re learning (you’ll never be thrust into the spotlight when that isn’t your desire). If being in the spotlight is something you seek then it is readily available. We play a wide variety of music including Rock, Country, Standards, 23 Skidoo, Hawaiian, some goofy fun songs and more.

Join us for the Pacific Beach Library's monthly book discussion! Our group meets in a hybrid format, so you can choose whether you'd prefer to join us in-person in the PB Library's Community Room or virtually (please send an email to [email protected] for this year's Teams login info).Description: Dominic Salt and his three children are caretakers of Shearwater, a tiny island not far from Antarctica. Home to the world's largest seed bank, Shearwater was once full of researchers, but with sea levels rising, the Salts are now its final inhabitants. Until, during the worst storm the island has ever seen, a woman mysteriously washes ashore. Isolation has taken its toll on the Salts, but as they nurse the woman, Rowan, back to strength, it begins to feel like she might just be what they need. Rowan, long accustomed to protecting herself, starts imagining a future where she could belong to someone again. But Rowan isn't telling the whole truth about why she set out for Shearwater. And when she discovers sabotaged radios and a freshly dug grave, she realizes Dominic is keeping his own secrets.
