Sensory and early literacy play for little learners ages 1–5 and their caregivers.Young learners love experiencing the world through their senses. This sensory-based program will have the kiddos engaging their five senses while scooping, pouring and exploring. Adult participation required. Registration is encouraged to help staff planning to ensure a more comfortable program! Parking at the Library:Ace is the parking vendor that manages the Central Library's 250 underground parking spaces. The following parking rates are currently in effect:First two (2) hours free with validation for library users. Validation is available in the first floor lobby.$1.25 for each 20 minutes or part of 20 minutes$21 All Day MaximumOnly credit card payments are accepted

Chess sets are provided but personal chess sets are allowed. Come by and practice playing in person instead of on phone apps. Please have at least a basic knowledge of moves as it is an in-person scrimmage and not a training class.

The Old Globe is pleased to announce a fall full of Shakespeare with this year’s annual Globe for All Tour, bringing a production of Julius Caesar to communities across our region. This year's tour will feature a diverse and multitalented company of artists that will bring a stirring, free-admission production. The performance at San Diego Central Library is on Saturday, November 8 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.Refreshments served!Since the inception of the Old Globe's Globe for All Tour in 2014, approximately 16,000 community members have experienced a performance. These tours offer free-of-charge admission to shows in nontheatrical venues such as gymnasiums, cafeterias, shelters, senior centers, refugee community centers, military installations, and correctional facilities, and give audiences an intimate and compelling theatrical experience that fosters a shared sense of connection between performers and audiences. The majority of attendees are experiencing live theatre for the very first time.
