Here in Cambria we are surrounded by spectacular nature. Greenspace's Nature Club offers a multi-generational experience for adults and children to explore and deepen our connection to nature and to share adventures. We can build on the beach with driftwood, explore nature art, build fairy houses, collect rocks, find moonstones, build rock cairns, follow tracks, learn about edible plants. The possibilities are endless. Sue Davis, who has 45 years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator, will facilitate the Greenspace Nature Club.The club will meet the third Sunday of every month, 3-5 pm. Locations will vary. This easy, one-mile walk will be taken at a slow to moderate pace, depending on bird activity and sightings along the way. The route follows gentle terrain over flat surfaces, making it accessible for most participants. Expect to encounter a variety of species across different habitats, with likely sightings including Red-shouldered Hawks, California Quail, California Scrub-Jays, woodpeckers, and various waterfowl.  This field trip is NOT ADA accessible, bathrooms are available, and the trip is open to all levels of experience. During the walk, youâll learn about the charismatic fog lichens, their important ecological roles in coastal habitats, and how to identify several commonâand perhaps one or two locally rareâlichen species. The walk involves a short but steep and uneven ascent to the top of White Point Vista, the overlook near the Natural History Museum. This may be challenging for some, so please consider this when registering.  This field trip is NOT ADA accessible, bathrooms are available, and the trip is open to all levels of experience. The beaches may look quiet, but they are teeming with life just beneath the surface. Ever wonder what birds are poking for in the sand or digging through rotting seaweed? Join us as we explore the sandy beach and wrack line ecosystems to discover whatâs attracting so many shorebirds. Learn how detritus, algae, bacteria, and piles of rotting seaweed (wrack) support a thriving community of invertebratesâproviding a feast for migrating birds. We'll walk 1â2 miles along a combination of hard-packed and soft sand.  This field trip is NOT ADA accessible, bathrooms are available, and the trip is open to all levels of experience. Morro Coast Audubon Society Presents  Field Trip:                 Estero Bluffs  Date:                          September 5, 2025   Time:                          9:00am to 12:00pm   Leader(s):                 Jim Bland & Bob Revel   Description: Estero Bluffs, one of Californiaâs newer State Parks, features a stunning grassland marine terrace that slopes down to wild and scenic ocean bluffs. Enjoy a slow-paced walk of 1.5 to 2 miles along flat trails through a rich diversity of coastal habitats. The areaâs sea stacks and intertidal zones attract a wide variety of birds. Look for rock-loving shorebirds and keep an eye out for turnstones, surfbirds, whimbrels, sea ducks, terns, sandpipers, and gulls. This field trip is not ADA accessible, bathrooms are NOT available, and the trip is open to all levels of experience.
