The San Luis Obispo High School Model United Nations Club is excited to invite students from Laguna Middle School, Los Osos Middle School, and San Luis Obispo High School to participate in a  free Middle School Model UN Conference , hosted at  SLOHS from July 9-11, 2:00-5:00 PM daily . What is Middle School Model UN? This educational simulation allows middle school students (grades 6-8) to role-play as diplomats representing different countries in simulated United Nations committees. Participants will: * Debate pressing global issues like  climate change ,  human rights , and  international security * Research  and present their assigned country's stance* Negotiate ,  collaborate , and  draft resolutions  with peers* Build essential skills in  public speaking ,  critical thinking , and  international diplomacy Conference Highlights: * Opening speeches* Committee debates* Resolution writing and voting* A welcoming and supportive space for first-time participants
