In this introductory screen printing class, we will explore and honor the long history of printmaking's place in protest. Participants will be printing posters or shirts with protest designs or phrases submitted by them. Screens need to be created before the class, so designs or ideas will be sent in and then voted upon a week before the class by participants. Print Party is a weekly program with alternating themes where participants will be invited to dive into different printmaking mediums with an instructor present to guide them through the process. No printing experience required. Print Studio at STUDIO 24, hosted by the Boulder Public Library, is space for creativity and exploration in all things printmaking from February through May 2026. During this time, artists of all ages and experience are invited to try their hand at a variety of printmaking techniques, including relief printing, screen printing, monoprinting, letterpress, etching, and collagraph. Through workshops, drop-in activities, and Open Studio hours, participants will have the opportunity to learn, experiment, and create through exploration in printmaking.

Additional tutoring support may be available if needed. Learners must attend the first class (January 22) in-person at NoBo library in order to collect the study materials for the remainder of classes.Learners must be 16 years old and live or work in Boulder County. Bring a garment (or many) in need of a pocket (or many).Pocket patterns, fabric, and all sewing tools will be provided.Chop Shop is an invitation to reimagine our wardrobes and empower participants to take agency over the fit, styling, and embellishment of their clothing. We’ll upcycle by shopping our own closets with a different focus each week. In this workshop style class, we will brainstorm techniques and practice skills to achieve your unique fashion goals. Chop Shop is not a place for your most precious garments, but instead a place to play with items that aren’t quite right. Previous sewing experience is encouraged but not required and bravery can go a long way. Let’s go chopping!

The discussion and crafts are facilitated by R.J. Quirk and Teague McDaniel. RJ Quirk (they/them) is a local community builder and LGBTQ advocate. They are the producer and host of the Trans Embodiment Podcast. In their free time, they can be found performing at Boulder poetry events. Teague McDaniel (they/he/zi) is an interdisciplinary artist, curator, and professor based in Boulder, Colorado. They are from Colorado and are passionate about engaging in creative practice with other trans and gender expansive people. Young Nico is forced to spend the summer in Sicily, staying with an elderly, unmarried and very religious aunt who lives completely out of time in an old building full of superstitions and without Wi-Fi. A staff member will email you with your child's assigned start time prior to the session. For questions, please email Wynell Webster at [email protected] NOTE: This program is designed to help build your child’s confidence and independence in reading. Participating children will practice reading one-on-one with a therapy dog, allowing them to take ownership of the process, make mistakes, build confidence, and develop self-reliance without an audience—key ingredients in growing as a confident reader. In our small study rooms, the therapy dogs are best equipped to work with individual school-aged readers. Caregivers and siblings are welcome to sit in a chair directly outside the room. Page and Paws takes place on the first, second, and third Wednesday of the month.
