Enjoy storytime, songs and play with your little one. Leave with books and fun activities to keep the learning going at home! Everyone is welcome, from grandparents to caregivers. (The program, activities and materials are geared to ages 18 months to 5 years, but younger children are welcome to attend.)  Please register each child and adult attending this program. Drop-ins welcome as space allows! If you are unable to attend this month's in-person program, or if the program is full, you will have the opportunity to register for our Learning on the Go at Home Activity Kit (see below).*  *Registration for Learning on the Go at Home Activity Kits will start Monday, May 19 and will remain open while supplies last. The same in-person program materials will be provided in the mailed kits, so please do not sign up if you are able to attend one of the May in-person programs. The mailed kits will also include a video link to the storytime program.

This themed, literacy-based drop in program is chock full of activities to help prepare your child for school and beyond. We'll work on motor skills, literacy and counting all while playing in an enriching environment that allows for socialization and for each child to choose their own activity (matching their energy level). Crafts and toddler-friendly snacks will be provided, along with a weekly take-home goody bag to continue learning at home. Kelver Library is partnering with Food Bank of the Rockies to provide nourishing meals to our neighbors of the eastern plains community who are experiencing food insecurity. Food Bank of the Rockies will offer fresh produce, shelf-stable items and more on the second Monday of each month during 2025 at Kelver Library from 9am until the food runs out.  No qualification is needed and all are welcome. This site is client choice please bring bags or boxes to transport food. Please check the Food Bank of the Rockies website for potential weather delays or closures of the distribution. Food Bank of the Rockies has more than 80 mobile pantries distributions throughout Colorado and Wyoming to reach those in need. Since mid-March, the food bank has consistently distributed more food throughout the metro and rural communities than ever before. On average, they have distributed 9 million pounds of food per month and are providing enough food to serve nearly 250,000 meals per day. This themed, literacy-based drop in program is chock full of activities to help prepare your child for school and beyond. We'll work on motor skills, literacy and counting all while playing in an enriching environment that allows for socialization and for each child to choose their own activity (matching their energy level). Crafts and toddler-friendly snacks will be provided, along with a weekly take-home goody bag to continue learning at home. Join us for this specially themed Mother's Day program where we'll celebrate our caregivers by planting sunflowers...and other things! Have you ever wanted to explore a cave? Now you can do so safely with CaveSim, a cave on wheels! CaveSim has 130 feet of tunnels to explore and a vertical caving tower where you can be lifted up a 12-foot tower. Watch out for stalactites! What you need to know:  Must be 5+ to participate in the cave simulator.  Limited activities will be available for younger siblings.   CaveSim contains rough surfaces and people taking blood thinners should not use CaveSim due to possible scrapes and cuts. CaveSim contains challenging tunnels and tight, dark spaces that young children may find frightening, and adults may find difficult. This event will be held outside the library. Restrooms will be available. Poor weather could delay or cancel this event. Please bring water and sun protection.
