​​The internet has become so vast and ubiquitous that some of us may not even know where to begin. This class is designed to introduce students to the basics of using the internet. Students will learn how to connect a device to the internet, how to search the internet safely, and troubleshooting tips for common issues. The class meets weekly for four consecutive weeks, with three sessions that are instructor-led and cover material on the given topic and a fourth session that is conducted as an open lab for students to ask questions, take proctored exams, or get more information.If you already have an email address, please come prepared with your email address and password to log into your email account. Start your 3D printing and designing journey with the PPLD! We will create and print a custom project using Tinkercad, a free, online 3D design software. No previous experience required. Ages 9 and up.   After completing this badging class, you will be able to use the 3D printers on your own during open hours at the makerspaces at East and Sand Creek libraries, as well as Library 21c. If you are unable to attend this badging class or would prefer not to attend in person, a virtual badging option is available.   Makerspace classes can fill up quickly, so it is best to register close to when registration opens. If you are unable to register for this class, you can find other Tinkercad classes at all three makerspaces.  Please set up a free Tinkercad.com account before attending. Tinkercad accounts may take several days for Autodesk Inc. to process. Please create the account after registering and bring your login information to class. Learn the basics of machine sewing and create a simple project. You will learn to wind a bobbin, thread the machine, and navigate the interface of a computerized sewing machine. Practice your new skills and basic stitches with a quick project. With these skills, you can make any number of simple sewing projects at makerspaces at East and Sand Creek libraries, as well as Library 21c. No previous experience required. All materials and equipment provided. Ages 9 – 12.   This class is only for tweens ages 9 – 12, however we have sewing classes for ages 9 and up as well. You can find other sewing classes for teens, adults, and seniors at all three makerspaces.  All participants will need to have a makerspace waiver signed by an adult guardian in order to attend this class or use the makerspace. The signer must be present and show an ID for the waiver. An adult guardian will need to be with the participant in the makerspace at all times.  All participants must have their own library card.
