The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers FREE tax return preparation to low income households who generally earn $65,000 or less. Last year our volunteers were able to serve 8,700 individuals and families. Our free tax preparation service saved the community over $2 million in tax preparation fees and provided taxpayers over $10 million in refunds and credits, putting money back into our community’s households.

In addition, American artists such as Jackson Pollock, Sol LeWitt, Mark Rothko, Alex Katz, and Roy Lichtenstein emerged onto the art scene and were central to these movements. Concurrently, New York's museums are collectively evolving into becoming the world's leading cultural institutions for fine art.Scott Verchin is an independent business consultant which includes the visual arts and museum sectors. Throughout his career, he has served notable roles as Publisher of MUSEUMS and ARCHAEOLOGY magazine. Scott has also been a Contributor to Art Market Magazine covering US exhibitions. Recently, he has begun giving lectures about the history of art for local organizations such as Congregation B’nai Israel and Bigelow Center. A lifelong patron of the arts, Scott has frequented art museums and galleries on five different continents. He hosted his first exhibition, BLACK & WHITE PAINTINGS, on Long Island in 1989.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers FREE tax return preparation to low income households who generally earn $65,000 or less. Last year our volunteers were able to serve 8,700 individuals and families. Our free tax preparation service saved the community over $2 million in tax preparation fees and provided taxpayers over $10 million in refunds and credits, putting money back into our community’s households.
