We are so excited to host Martha Hall Kelly on the publication day of her new novel, The Martha’s Vineyard Beach and Book Club.Two sisters living on Martha’s Vineyard during World War II find hope in the power of storytelling when they start a wartime book club for women—a spectacular novel inspired by true events from the New York Times bestselling author of Lilac Girls. Martha Hall Kelly is the New York Times bestselling author of Lilac Girls, Lost Roses, Sunflower Sisters, and The Golden Doves. Born and raised in Massachusetts, Martha was inspired to write The Martha’s Vineyard Beach and Book Club by her mother's family, the Smiths, who settled on Martha's Vineyard in 1891. She received journalism degrees from both Syracuse and Northwestern Universities and worked as an advertising copywriter for many years before becoming a novelist. With more than two million copies of her books sold and translated in fifty countries, Martha lives in Litchfield, Connecticut, and Hobe Sound, Florida.We will have a reception in the art gallery starting at 6:00 and Martha will speak at 6:30. We’ll talk about how to evaluate news sources so you can separate fact from fiction and become a more informed and discerning consumer of news. Discover practical techniques that will empower you to identify credible sources, detect misleading content, and navigate the digital landscape with confidence. Jennifer Mottolese is the Research & Outreach Librarian at Fairfield University’s DiMenna-Nyselius Library where she works closely with students, faculty, and staff to connect with them with information resources so they can achieve their academic goals. She holds a master’s degree in library and information science from Southern Connecticut State University, and a master’s degree in history from Fordham University.

If you sew, knit, crochet, scrapbook, paint, or do any other craft, kick off the week with a perfect morning to get inspired and connect with fellow crafters in our community. Do you have unfinished crafts at home that you can't quite complete? Are you stuck on your sewing? Maybe a change of scenery will help you get to the finish line.
