Need a spot to record your adventures or musings? These pocket journals go everywhere (and easily slip into a backpack) with their durable covers and hand-stitched pages. With plenty of space to make your mark, these little books are the perfect companions to keep track of your bright ideas, quick sketches or doodles - great for nature/garden journaling too!  Covers will be designed using Kraftex - a flexible, fabric-like paper that can be painted, stitched, collaged - a great substrate. There will be options for the inside papers and cover decoration. Participants are invited to bring their own papers to add a personal touch to your pages: sheet music, comic book pages, maps, art class drawings, etc. No bookbinding experience required, a great starting point to hold your own book in your hand!  Duration: 1 1/2 - 2 hours Program includes instruction and all materials.

Adaptive storytime will offer families of neurodiverse* children ages 3 -10 an engaging storytime in a small group setting. During this mixed ability storytime you can expect interactive stories and songs, social narratives, visual schedules, fun with fidgets and props, and time for free choice play and caregiver socialization. Activities will generally fall within a preschool to grade 1 interest level.   * Neurodiversity describes the idea that people experience and interact with the world around them in many different ways; there is no one "right" way of thinking, learning, and behaving. The word neurodiversity is often used in the context of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), as well as other neurological or developmental conditions such as ADHD or learning disabilities (Harvard).  Registration Required. The Authority is responsible for ensuring that the program operates efficiently, transparently, and in compliance with state law, while providing critical income-replacement benefits to eligible workers across Connecticut.In this presentation, staff from the Connecticut Paid Leave Authority will provide a comprehensive overview of the program, including eligibility requirements, qualifying events, benefit calculations, and timelines. Attendees will learn how to access the system, submit an application, navigate the approval process, and understand their rights and responsibilities as eligible workers.
