The Chamber has eight geographically based divisions which meet on a monthly basis throughout Middlesex County. These divisions focus on local economic development issues and each meeting features an update from local municipal officials.  Westbrook Division occurs on the fourth Tuesday of the month (unless otherwise noted) at different locations. This division does not meet in the Summer months of July and August. Twice a year, in November and March, our monthly morning meetings are held during the evening and feature appetizers and networking, with the goal of creating new connections. These events are called Division After Dark.

The Building Committee, established in January 2023, was created to survey and address infrastructure improvements to the Chamber building.   Built in 1915, the building has faced many challenges with flooding, a leaking roof and in desperate need of new windows, doors, and a first-floor renovation.   Led by Tim Myjak, the committee is comprised of eight building industry professionals who will continue to develop a plan to address the improvements and identify budget needs. This group is critical to ensuring this building can meet the modern needs of today, as we continue to serve as the center for business and economic development, and to reflect the energy and spirit of the Chamber.

These divisions focus on local economic development issues and each meeting features an update from local municipal officials. Twice a year, in November and March, our monthly morning division meetings are held during the evening and feature appetizers and networking, with the goal of creating new connections.     The Professional Training and Development program, offered by the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, will take place virtually via Zoom during the months of April, May, and June of 2026. This important workforce development program has trained over 2,000 people since its inception in 1986 and has received many awards along the way, including a Presidential Citation and The Governor’s Laurel Award. These programs/classes are FREE to the public and are designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills to compete in today’s demanding workforce and to increase productivity in the workplace. The Legislative Committee works hard as the chamber’s voice on important public policy issues in the State of Connecticut.  The committee is responsible for creating the chamber’s Public Policy Agenda on a yearly basis, and hosts major legislative events every year. These include: the Legislative Breakfast with the Middlesex County legislative delegation, and four leadership events featuring leaders from each of the legislative caucuses in Hartford. The Legislative Committee will continue to pursue legislation that encourages Connecticut businesses to invest and grow opportunities for good, well-paying jobs.    This committee is a closed committee. Meetings occur on the first Wednesday of each month, at 9:00 a.m., at the Chamber, or you may join via Zoom. This committee is an open committee! If you would like more information on how you can get involved please contact Chris Cambareri at [email protected]   The Chamber’s Environment and Infrastructure Council, chaired by Tim Myjak, leads the Chamber’s ongoing work on environmental stewardship, transportation, and critical infrastructure systems. The Council focuses on roads and bridges, rail and waterways, the electrical grid, natural gas pipelines, broadband, and other essential assets that support the region’s growth. Beyond infrastructure, it advances economic resilience by helping members address emerging challenges such as severe weather and cyber risks, while advocating for smart policy changes that encourage redevelopment, attract investment, and strengthen the regional economy. By connecting infrastructure improvements with forward-looking policy, the Council promotes sustainable, long-term growth across Middlesex County and beyond.
