Join Sarah Schaber, RYT-500 certified yoga instructor, for a free 1-hour gentle flow class. Ideal for beginners, seniors, and anyone looking for a slower flow practice. All skill levels welcome. We will learn breathing techniques, postures, and exercises to promote flexibility and strength, balance, and relaxation. Please bring a yoga mat or towel from home. The instructor also recommends 4-inch-deep foam yoga blocks. If you are unable to get onto the floor easily, do not worry, we will provide chairs. There are options for all! Ages 18 . We recommend registration as it will guarantee you a spot in the class, however, we do take multiple walk-in's each class as space permits on a first come, first serve basis. If you are on the waiting list, you are more than welcome to try and come to the class as a walk-in. Looking for more yoga resources? This is a fun way to learn about another country and make a new friend. We handle all the international postage - you bring in and pick up your letters at the library.How to sign up:Fill out a registration form. Registration forms are available at the library and online. Click here to register online. Parental permission and signature is needed for anyone to participate under the age of 18. Please register all persons under 18 in person at the library.Wait! After you are registered, library staff will work to match you with your New Zealand pen pal! Please be patient.Get matched! You will be notified with the full name of your pen pal and some basic information. Please use their full name when addressing envelopes!How the program works:Write your letter and drop it off at your library. Be sure to address it clearly!When your letter arrives from New Zealand, you'll be notified! Just stop in to the library to pick it up!Respond to your pen pal and write another letter! We will then recall how within a few decades it came very close to being forgotten and thrown into the ash can of history, until it was rescued from oblivion to become the paper that continues to inspire people all over the world. Join us at South Coastal Library for a free and fun old time music/ folk concert! We will learn about the origin and evolution of old-time music with father-son duo, Ken and & Brad Kolodner. The term “Old Time” has been used to describe “string band” music since the 1920s but the style has a much longer history. The style originated by fusing the traditional music of the British Isles and Africa, and later incorporating elements of blues, ragtime, and Bluegrass. Performing on clawhammer banjo, gourd banjo, hammered mbira, twin fiddles, hammered dulcimer, guitar, and vocals, the dynamic Baltimore-based father-son team Ken & Brad Kolodner are leaders in maintaining the tradition true to its roots, but also contributing to its evolution.No registration is needed.
