CHRISTINA SCHOOL DISTRICT TO HOST TWO FREE COMMUNITY CARNIVALSThe Christina School District is super-excited to invite students families and everyone in the community to kick off the 2025-2026 school year with two fun-filled community carnivals. These festive gatherings are designed to bring our community together for an afternoon of fun connection and memorable experiences &mdash and best of all they're free to attend.&ldquo We want to make a lasting impact this year &rdquo said Christina School District Superintendent Dr. Deirdra Joyner. &ldquo We're kicking off the school year with events that highlight our commitment to engaging families and strengthening community partnerships.&rdquo The carnivals will be held on Saturday August 16 from noon to 4 p.m. at Glasgow High School and Wednesday August 20 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Bayard School.This year's carnivals will have something for everyone &mdash fun games delicious food bounce houses inflatables community resource tables and much more! Don't miss out on the fun&mdash bring your family and friends! Schools will open for the new school year on Tuesday September 2 for grades 1 to 6 and 9 and grades K-12 for the Brennen School/DAP Delaware School for the Deaf and REACH. All students in grades K-12 will attend on Wednesday September 3. Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students will begin school on Monday September 8.
