By combining painting and collage, we will embrace Pantoneâs Color of the Year, âCloud Dancerâ. Always a challenge when using a single coloration, the results are truly amazing! Students will walk away with a âready to varnishâ piece with âhow toâ instructions once dry. Students must provide their own canvas, preferably 24âł x 24âł Materials included are:Â Magazines, assorted novelty papers, white paint in various bodies and textures, gel mediums, pastels, chalks, brushes, water jar, rags, glue, scrapper for collage, stencils. This is a workshop for every level of artist from beginner to experienced painter. Color not only conveys feelings and emotions, but also passes inconspicuous messages to the viewer. Color Theory Basics is an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of color and color mixing with acrylic paint in a 2-Day workshop. The extended time gives more opportunity to practice as well. The Color Theory Basics Workshop is designed for the amateur artist who needs to solidify the basic, fundamental elements and structures of color knowledge. In order to gain this knowledge, the attendee will apply the information given in class through small projects completed during class hours. The goal is to enhance the students abilities on how to mix colors for the projects. This will help the students achieve a strong visual balance and convey meaningful messages to the viewers of their works. The workshop will be divided in to 3 small projects that will enhance the knowledge of the participants. This will be an opportunity to practice and get familiar with the blending of colors which will be taught in the 2-Day Color Theory workshop. Instructor Information: Beverly Manning has been hosting workshops with Arts Warehouse since 2019, such asÂ Intro to CreativityÂ andÂ Color Theory. Beverly was born in New York City and raised in Ecuador. She graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a BA degree in Art with a concentration in Graphic Design and Photography. In 1996 she moved to Florida where she worked as a Graphic Designer. Best known for her colorful abstract paintings, Manning acquired her technical skills by working with renowned painters from the South Florida area. She uses a wide range of mediums such as acrylics, newspaper, oil pastels and crayons, even her interior house paints. In other words, any and everything that can help to create and obtain vibrant paintings. Inspiration comes in many different forms, such as photos, flowers, and anything that touches her creativity. The main objective is to communicate feelings through colors and flowing lines that suggest the freedom of movement. Manning uses an array of techniques which range from Tapping and Meditation to art exercises in order to tune into her feelings. The techniques open up her creativity and prevents judgement towards her own creations. In March of 2018, Manning exhibited at the office of The Octopi Group in Delray Beach, where 27 paintings in a collection where presented. She also has exhibited at Style de Vie and Cornell Museum in Delray Beach. Â

Intro to Photography $98Wednesday, June 17 & Thursday, June 185pm to 8pmNo makeup datesWhether youâre picking up a camera for the very first time or brushing up on your skills, this two-day workshop is designed to help you feel more confident, creative, and inspired behind the lens. Weâll begin with the foundations: learning your camera, exploring key settings, and understanding techniques that apply across different styles of photography. Together, weâll focus on three core areas: portraiture, landscape, and personal projects. Here, you can explore which direction excites you most. Day One:Â Weâll cover best practices for shooting and how to approach different types of photos. Youâll have guided practice time to apply new skills, experiment, and ask questions as you work. Day Two:Â Reflection and photo-critique. Weâll review and critique the images you captured on Day One, talk about what worked well, and identify ways to improve. This format creates space for both individual feedback and group learning. Youâll also have the chance to print a selection of your photos on-site with my mini-printer! Since 2018 she has taught photography classes to students K-12 as a Senior Artist in Residence at the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County, the fifth largest Club organization in the United States. Sharing her knowledge of photography, she sparked interest in hundreds of young kids who have learned how to use digital cameras, tell a story visually, create interesting portraits and intentionally explore their communities. Andrea curates an annual group exhibit of her studentsâ best work of the year to be on display at Florida Atlantic Universityâs Schmidt Gallery. Other exhibits of her studentsâ work include the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center in Belle Glade and the Lighthouse ArtCenter in Tequesta. She has led educational trips with National Geographic Student Expeditions and Putney Student Travel, focusing on photography while collaborating with experts in other fields like biology and science. Andrea is based in Boca Raton, Florida. Her work focuses on issues surrounding identity, migration, memory through the lens of visual storytelling. Her photography journey began in high school seeing her images come to life in darkroom chemicals. Youâll learn techniques to blend and control movement of the inks and mixatives to shape petals, stems, leaves, add highlights and create depth. Youâll leave with finished artwork and new skills to continue exploring alcohol inks with confidence. This class is perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike, and all materials are provided. What is Alcohol Ink? Alcohol ink is a fluid art. The inks are dye-based and extremely vibrant due to heavy pigmentation. The inks glide freely on non-porous surfaces and are easily manipulated with various techniques such as blowing, stamping or brushing. Another unique quality of alcohol ink is that the dried ink can be ârevivedâ when coming into contact with fresh ink or blending solution, allowing for further process of the design. Alcohol ink is a fun and unique medium, allowing for creative freedom. About the teaching artist: Debra L. Snyder, Fine Artist/Potter/Instructor I began my formal art education at Parsons School of Art & Design in New York and years later studied acrylic and watercolor painting with renowned artists at the Woodstock School of Art. My favorite theme for landscapes and seascapes was inspired while living at the Jersey Shore, the Catskill Mountains and the coastal areas of New England.
