Join us for this engaging park event with Dr. Steffanie Munguía, an Avian Conservation Programs Manager for Zoo Miami. She will introduce the Cape Florida Banding Station, a migratory bird banding station right here in our park. Key Biscayne is an important stop-over for migratory birds in the spring and fall. CFBS bands around 1800 birds annually. Steffanie is a bander-in-charge and interim operations director at the Cape Florida Banding Station, the longest-running, southern-most migratory bird banding station in the continental United States. EXPERIENCE a sample bird banding station. TEST your own knowledge about our local and migratory bird population. LEARN more about the critical work of the CFBS and the work they have done over the last 20 years. ENJOY Lite bites and refreshments. TICKETS: Tickets required for all for this event (Members and Non-Members) TIME: 7:30 PM to 9:00PM LOCATION: Sunset Pavilion D-18 by the seawall.

Join The Antonio Tsialas Leadership Foundation for an important community conversation on preventing bullying and hazing through compassionate leadership on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Key Biscayne Community Center. Pizza will be served at 6:30 PM, with the program beginning at 7:00 PM. This free event will focus on recognizing bullying and hazing, understanding the difference between the two, and empowering young leaders to help build a safer, stronger, and more compassionate community. Community service hours will be provided to all High School students. is located at Key Biscayne.

NAMIWalks Miami-Dade is an annual community fundraising event hosted by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) that brings together individuals, families, organizations, and community members to raise awareness and support for mental health. The event takes place during Mental Health Awareness Month and encourages participants to walk together, share their stories, and advocate for the message of “Mental Health for All.” In 2026, the walk will be held on May 16 at 8:00 a.m. at loanDepot Park, home of the Miami Marlins. Participants can register individually or as teams, fundraise for the cause, and engage with community resources and support networks. Funds raised through NAMIWalks help support free mental health programs, education, advocacy, outreach, and support services provided by NAMI Miami-Dade County to individuals and families affected by mental illness. Each year, thousands of people participate, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to expand access to mental health resources and reduce stigma in the community.

Get ready for an exciting day of endurance racing as the Tri-Miami Triathlon #1 returns to Crandon Park on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Athletes will compete in swimming, cycling, and running events throughout the park and along portions of the Rickenbacker Causeway. 📍 Event Details Event: Tri-Miami Triathlon #1 Date: Sunday, May 17, 2026 Location: Crandon Park, 6747 Crandon Blvd., Key Biscayne, FL 33149 Participants: 300+ athletes and attendees ⏰ Activity Schedule 4:00 AM – 10:00 AM Cycling course operations and roadway traffic modifications on the Rickenbacker Causeway 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM Running, swimming, finish line activities, and awards ceremony inside Crandon Park 🚧 Traffic Impacts & Roadway Changes Motorists should expect temporary traffic adjustments during the cycling portion of the race: Cyclists will travel westbound from Crandon Park toward Hobie Island before returning eastbound back to the park. Vehicle traffic will be shifted into a counter-flow traffic pattern on the south side of the Causeway during the race. The following areas will be temporarily closed: Hobie Island north-side beach access parking lot William Powell Bridge turnaround lane Traffic control and safety operations will be managed by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and local police personnel. 🌴 Event Information The triathlon includes: Open-water swimming Causeway cycling course Running course within Crandon Park Finish line festivities & awards
