Join us for a delightful evening of poetry hosted by poet, producer and publisher, Gary Broughman and published author and poet, Glorida Herdt. The evening will begin with a reading by our guest poet followed by an open mic format for the remainder of the event. No advanced sign-up required. Adults (18+) only please. For more information, please contact Gary at [email protected] Dodge is a poet native to the east coast of Central Florida, who is thoroughly enamored with the art of lyrical storytelling and liberated self-expression. She stumbled upon poetry (consciously, anyway) in her backyard at sunset, on July 7th in 2024. And the journey has rarely ceased to heal, empower & entertain her since then. Her work is usually inspired by her tendency for tireless self-reflection â as well as her bodily, synesthetic experience, the full spectrum of human emotion, her frequent metaphysical musings, her cat Lion, and the inherent poeticism of life itself. Bethany is grateful to announce that her first poetry collection, Cosmic Cormorant, is being published this year! And as a Reiki-certified, recent graduate of the massage therapy program at DSC, she is very excited to embody her passion of supporting other humans â in their own, individual processes of wayfinding, self-recognition and learning how to best enjoy the Journey. She prefers to see, feel and interpret the world through her mantra that life is art. And one of her favorite ways to experience that with others is through covert people-watching, genuine conversations, and spaces like this one to share poetry.   May 16: Peter M. In this exhibition, our member artists present their interpretations of history, focusing on the rich tapestry of our hometown, New Smyrna, Florida.From the legacy of its indigenous peoples to the establishment of the colony and the diverse stories of generations that followed, each artist is invited to express their unique perspective on the events that have shaped our community. This juried exhibition, in collaboration with the New Smyrna Beach History Museum, celebrates the voices of our members and artists, showcasing the history that defines who we are today.
