House on Foggy Bluff Returns for Its Most Twisted Year Yet                                    Holiday Haunts Invade Foggy Bluff   This year's theme, "Holiday Haunts," brings twisted elves, haunted hearts, and ghostly celebrations to life in horrifying detail. From cursed candy canes to vampire turkeys, no holiday is safe.                                             Sightings Reported  Guests from past years claim to have seen things they can't explain — flickering shadows, whispers in the dark, and cold spots where none should be. Enter if you dare. The House on Foggy Bluff is a community-run haunted attraction hosted by the nonprofit Green Gables at Historic Riverview Village. Our mission is to bring spooky fun to the Space Coast while preserving local history. Each year, we create a new haunting theme—this year's is "Holiday Haunts," featuring twisted versions of your favorite celebrations. We're running "Holiday Haunts" this year on Friday and Saturday nights through October. October 17, 18, 24, 25, 31, and Nov 1 7:30pm - 10:00pm nightly Kids "Not so Scary" Trick'r'Treat dates on Saturdays   October 18 and 25    5:00pm - 7:00pm Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids under 10 years of age. St Francis Hospice presents the D.A.S.H In Life 5K One of the SCR Runner of the Year Series Races Join us in honoring Veterans with Devotion Admiration Service and Honor at the DASH in Life 5K benefiting the "We Honor Veterans" Program at St. Francis Hospice. Together, we will ensure they feel the gratitude of our nation for their service.   The unique nature of those who serve in the military is paramount to St. Francis Hospice as we help each Veteran live out their own journey on the Sunset Road the best they can. This DASH honors those whose DASH has overlapped ours. You and your team can run in honor or memory of a Veteran. You can walk, run, march, skip and you can even spirit run the event.   This event is open to all ages and we will be held at the beautiful Brevard Veterans Memorial Center on Merritt Island. Service animals are the only pets permitted. Strollers are welcome and we ask that they line up behind the runners.   Stay after the race to help celebrate the Veterans in attendance with a special pinning ceremony. Join the NVHS 8th Annual Homestretch 5K in Eau Gallie on November 9, 2025, and run for a great cause! This fun event supports homeless veterans in our community and offers you a chance to show your solidarity and generosity. Whether you are a seasoned runner or a beginner, you can enjoy the scenic views of the Indian River from the Eau Gallie Causeway. You will also receive a race kit that includes a medal, a T-shirt, and a goodie bag. If you are not a runner but still want to support this event, you can become a sponsor or a volunteer. Sponsors will get exclusive exposure and recognition on our website, social media, and event materials. An afternoon of live jazz by trumpeter John DePaola and his quintet. John has been a full-time freelance trumpeter for over 30 years. He lives in Orlando, FL, where he has been a musician at Walt Disney World and a Rosie O’Grady’s Goodtime Jazz Band member. John has performed with entertainers such as Ray Charles, Sammy Davis Jr., Bob Hope, Johnny Mathis, Kenny Rogers, Frank Sinatra Jr., The Moody Blues, and many others. John has also played for nationally touring Broadway shows like West Side Story, Hello Dolly, A Chorus Line, 42nd Street, The Producers, and Chicago. John is also a regular performer at jazz festivals across the U.S. with different groups and has also led his group, performing for Jazz clubs and societies in Florida. In his 3rd season as a member of the Dr. Phillips Center Jazz Orchestra under Rodney Whitaker’s direction, as a symphony musician, John has played principal trumpet with The Villages Philharmonic since 2003 and also served as principal trumpet with the Imperial Symphony in Lakeland, FL. He also performs with The Brevard Symphony and Orlando Philharmonic when called upon. His CD, Take Two, is a soulful collection of jazz standards, popular songs from the 60’s, and original compositions featuring the John DePaola Quartet with Jeff Phillips on piano and organ, Paul Parker on drums and percussion, and Charlie Silva on upright and electric bass.  General Admission is paid at the door. $20 for members of the Jazz Society and Veterans Memorial Center, $25 for guests and students are free. Bring your own food and drink. Tables, chairs, live jazz and a beautiful view of the river are provided.
