Memorial Day is one of the most important annual commemorations at the park, when we remember and honor those who died in service to our country. Each year, the park conducts activities to commemorate the Memorial Day Holiday. Prior to the holiday, the Avenue of Flags is raised in the National Cemetery by Park Staff and volunteers. This all-day program in the National Prisoner of War Museum and the Horseshoe will feature living historians, black powder demonstrations, and a special Freedom 250 activity for visitors of all ages.
