In recognition of Abraham Lincoln’s 217th Birthday, this program discusses Abraham Lincoln prior to his presidency and what shaped the 16th President of the United States of America. This program will be held at the Visitor Center patio.

Join us as we lay out the gear that made such intense campaigning possible.  You will see period-correct uniforms, weaponry and even get up close and personal with artifacts from the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain!

"And from the earth there sprang a host of men..." On June 27, 1864, some of the heaviest and most desperate fighting of the American Civil War would take place on a spur in rural Georgia. This Ranger-led history hike will be moderately difficult, so be sure to bring plenty of water and comfortable shoes.

This program is NOT at the Visitor Center parking is at Pigeon Hill at the intersection of Old Mountain Road and Burnt Hickory Road.

Join our rangers and volunteers for an interactive living history program that dives into early 19th century Cobb County through storytelling, material culture, and primary sources.

On the day of June 27th, 1864, Union forces attacked several key positions of the Confederate defenses along the Kennesaw Line. Of these attacks, the 5 brigade, 10,000 man assault against the ‘Dead Angle’ was the most dramatic. One of the regiments at the front of that attack was the 125th Illinois Infantry. Join one of our living history volunteers as they take you in the footsteps of these brave men and dive into the regiments history.  Parking is at Activity Area 3 off Cheatham Hill Rd (Tour Stop 6 on brochure)
