Learn how people cooked about 100 years ago using a historic wood stove. Lunch will be provided in part from your own cooking efforts. This program is for children ages 7-12. One adult must stay with their children. Advance Reservations are required. Limit of 20 participants.Event is from 11 AM - 2 PM. Kids will learn how cooking used to require much more time and effort than it does today and then be able to eat from their own efforts. One adult must register as a participant as well as register their children and stay throughout the program. The adult will participate with their children and lunch will be provided to both the children and the accompanying adult.No children younger than 7 will be allowed at this event due to the safety nature of being in the historic kitchen with a hot stove.Program is limited to 20 total people.Add Main

Learn to make butter, mill sorghum and see black powder demonstrations. Try your luck in the potato sack race or at old fashioned games. Enjoy lunch and treats as you listen to mountain music with your neighbors. The Nichols-Hunnicutt-Hardman Mansion will be open for self-guided tours of the first floor.
