Cannon demonstrations are a great way to learn about the weapons that were used to attack and defend historic Fort Pulaski during the American Civil War.Experience the roar of cannon fire while Park Rangers narrate the firing process and provide a short program about the 1862 bombardment that breached Fort Pulaski's walls, changing the history of fortifications.These programs are free, but standard park entry fees apply. For more information, visit the "fees" page of our park website, email [email protected], or call 912-219-4233. Cannon demonstrations at Fort Pulaski are subject to change based on weather and staff availability.

Cannon demonstrations will take place inside Fort Pulaski. Parking is available at the Fort Pulaski National Monument Visitor Center (101 Fort Pulaski Road, Savannah GA 31410).

In celebration of Veteran's Day, Fort Pulaski is free and open to the public during normal visiting hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) on Tuesday November 11, 2025.

Fort Pulaski National Monument’s Candle Lantern Holiday Tours will take place December 13-14, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM each night.Experience a unique visit during this festive event by taking a night-time guided walk through historic Fort Pulaski, lit by candlelight and oil lamps. Visitors will sample holiday refreshments, sing a carol or two, listen to performers and living historians, and even catch a night-time cannon firing, all while learning about Fort Pulaski’s past.Tickets for Fort Pulaski's Candle Lantern Holiday Tours will be available for purchase via recreation.gov in the Fall of 2025.
