The Bulloch County Board of Education will meet for its scheduled work session on Thursday, May 29, at 6:30 p.m., in the boardroom of the school district's Central Office, located at 150 Williams Road, in Statesboro. This will be the final meeting in which the Board discusses aspects of the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget. During the month of June, the superintendent will ask the Board to tentatively adopt a budget, which will be advertised to the public, and a final budget is expected to be voted on at the June work session. A final budget must be adopted by June 30, in preparation for the new fiscal year which begins July 1.

Our schools will host open houses for the new school year on July 31, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for elementary schools and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for middle and high schools.

The City of Statesboro and the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority, supported by local sponsors, will host the annual Downtown Pep Rally for Bulloch County's public and private school fall athletes and marching bands on Friday, August 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., on the Bulloch County Courthouse Square.  Wear your spirit gear to cheer on your favorite football, flag football, cheerleading teams and bands from Portal Middle High School, Southeast Bulloch High School, Statesboro High School, and Bulloch Academy. You'll get to hear from the coaches and team captains about their new seasons. Come celebrate a new school year and the kick-off to fall sports season.
