Tween Book Club

Ages 10-13 We will be meeting to talk about "Race to the Sun" by Rebecca Roanhorse.  Anyone between the ages of 10-13 can join. We'll be meeting once a month on a Saturday. Email [email protected] with any questions.

These 5th-8th grade students have spent the last six weeks learning from a local artist, and now you can see what they've been up to!  Join us in the Community Room from 5-6:30 PM to meet the artists, see their projects, and enjoy some refreshments.

Grades 5th-8th The classes will take place at Anne West Lindsey District Library on Mondays from 5-6:30 PM. We are so grateful to the Illinois Humanities Council and Artspace 304 for making this possible. The theme of these classes is "Building on the Unexpected" where students will learn that "'mistakes' are just mysteries waiting to be solved" and how to "make magic out of mess, in art and in life." Week 1 (September 22nd): Choose Your Own Adventure Weeks 2 & 3 (September 29th & October 6th): Paint Blot Shadowbox Week 4 (October 20th): Self Portrait Sculpture Weeks 5 (October 27th): The World of Blind Contour October 29th: Finishing Projects & Setting Up Exhibition Students will also have a chance to showcase their projects at the library during an exhibition on Monday, November 3rd from 5-6:30 PM.

Ages 7-13 Join us on a quest for knowledge! Each month questers can explore five different activities!  Each quester will receive an activity tracker, and after completing/trying one of the activities, the Children's Librarian will place a stamp next to that activity. ......More

Ages 7-13 Join us on a quest for knowledge! Each month questers can explore five different activities!  Each quester will receive an activity tracker, and after completing/trying one of the activities, the Children's Librarian will place a stamp next to that activity.  If questers try all five activities within the month, they will receive a prize! October's activities include air dry clay, straw construction, pipe cleaner creations, Turbo Pop, and yarn ghosts and pumpkins.
