A healthy, energetic body needs to feel relaxed while strong, flexible, mobile and well balanced. We can reduce stress in a most wonderful way while improving balance and agility. Increased coordination will be part of this workshop so that you can enjoy every social event you attend. Plant Propagation is the process of creating new plants from existing ones. We will provide the plant clipping, planting medium, and pot. All you need to do is care for it! Registration opens March 1. This month we will be propagating Sansevieria cylindrica. Plant propagation is the process of collecting clippings from one plant to grow an entirely new one. Please register in advance for this program to receive a kit with everything you need to start your new plant. Once the cuttings are prepared, you will be contacted and must pick them up between May 13-19. After that time, it will go to someone on the waitlistNOTE: Due to limited supplies, we can only accommodate 20 registrants. Those on the waitlist will be notified in the order of registration if extra cuttings become available. If you cannot pick up your cutting please call 708.422.8522 to release it to the next person.NOTE: All the plants come in a variety of colors and types. We won't know specifically what we will have until closer to the date.

Join us to close out our fourth season with bestselling author Matthew Desmond in conversation with award-winning journalist, Natalie Moore. Desmond is a professor of sociology at Princeton University and author of the award-winning book, Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City. The recipient of a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship, Desmond was named one of “fifty people across the country who are most influencing the national political debate” by Politico 50 in 2016. His research focuses on poverty in the United States, city life, housing insecurity, public policy, racial inequality, and ethnography. Natalie Moore is an award-winning journalist based in Chicago, whose reporting tackles race, housing, economic development, food injustice and violence. She is the author of the acclaimed The South Side: A Portrait of Chicago and American Segregation and co-author of The Almighty Black P Stone Nation: The Rise, Fall and Resurgence of an American Gang. Moore is the recipient of Chicago Library Foundation’s 21st Century Award and a Studs Terkel Community Media Award among many others.
