Please join the Moline Public Library and the Moline Preservation Society in welcoming Janette Foss Garcia to discuss the history of Swedes in Moline.Janette Foss Garcia is an Archivist and Librarian.  She is the Head of Collections at the Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center at Augustana College. She has worked as an Archivist in Texas, Iowa, and now Illinois, and has written and co-edited four local historical books, including the photo-historical book, “Edinburg” Texas in the Images of America series.  She is looking forward to presenting stories and photos about the history of Swedes in Moline – where they lived, worked, and congregated, and from everyday life to special events.

This special version of our KPop Demon Hunters Party event is for autistic children or those with sensory processing difficulties who may find our other program overwhelming. Drop in any time between 5 and 6 PM for games, crafts, and Huntrix fun!For preschool age and up with an adult. A Calm Down Area and a few sets of noise-canceling headphones will be available, but we recommend bringing your own headphones if your child is sensitive to sound. Registration is not required, but in an effort to make this program accessible we may limit the number of participants in the room at one time. A study room will be available for quiet activities until the program room is more comfortable for all.

Close the beaches! Er...hallways? This month's project is a fin-tastic shark student I.D. holder! Students will learn new and interesting sewing techniques to bring their sharks to life for use as an I.D. holder for school, or even as a fun way to show off their library cards. It'll be a swimmingly good time, so make sure to sign up early.Program will be in person in the Children's Programming room at 5:00pm. All materials for this program will be provided.This is an in-person ONLY event. Required registration opens March 4th and is limited.
