Toddler Hiking Club: An Imaginative Nature Walk is an interactive walking play for very young children that takes place in and around nature play spaces and on trails. As audiences follow the Trail Guide, they are introduced to some friendly, silly and musical animals who invite them to join the club through music, art and creative drama games! Best for children ages 2–5 with their caregivers. Audiences will be invited to walk 0.1–0.3 miles. Be sure to wear appropriate walking shoes. Accessible for all hikers! Everyone loves those tall tales! At 6:30 p.m., Todd Downing Tall Tales & Silly Songs tells some real whoppers and then weaves them into lively songs! Todd is a sure bet to have kids and parents moving and grooving, laughing all the way! At 7:15 p.m., Shout Out will deliver high energy, non-stop performances that have become a trademark of all of the Maggie Speaks’ bands. In the case of inclement weather, the event may be moved indoors to the Northbrook Theatre located at inside the Northbrook Park District Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Ave. Please note, alcoholic beverages are prohibited at this event. Northbrook Park District is considering improvements to Techny Prairie Park and Fields, located at 1700 Techny Rd. As part of this process, the Park District is considering submitting an application for an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) Grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to help fund a potential renovation. Attend the Community Input Meeting on July 22 or Community Open House on August 5 to view potential plans and share your thoughts.
