Get ready to show your school spirit—Olympic style! District 28 students and staff are participating in an Olympic-themed spirit week, Feb. 2- Feb. 6, ahead of the 2026 winter games in Italy! Monday 2/2: Opening Ceremonies Day (Dress in your country's colors or Olympic colors, USA or International Colors Encouraged!) Tuesday 2/3: Winter Wonderland Day (Wear white, silver, or blue to create a “snowy” look.) Wednesday 2/4: Team Spirit/Sports Jersey Day (Wear your favorite team’s gear- Olympic, college, or professional!) Thursday 2/5: Go for the Gold Day (Dress in gold, or go all out in metallics (gold, silver, bronze). Friday 2/6: Cozy Closing Ceremonies (Wear your favorite pajamas, slippers, or cozy socks.)

Do you have a child entering kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year? Northbrook 28 offers full-day kindergarten at each of our three elementary schools. To be eligible for kindergarten enrollment, children must turn five years old on or before September 1 of the enrollment year.  Online registration for children who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026, will be held from February 2, 2026, to February 9, 2026. You can determine the school your children will attend by reviewing the district boundary map. Please reach out to the administrative assistant at the school your child will attend with any questions you have. Are you seeking a nurturing and engaging early childhood program (ages 3-5) for your little one? District 28's Young Explorers program is offering a free developmental screening on February 19, 2026, for families who wish to enroll students at the start of the 2026-27 school year. Screenings are available for children ages three to five who live within the District 28 boundary area.
