Safe Sitter Essentials with CPR is a one-day class designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they're home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.Eckhart Public Library offers Safe Sitter Essentials on a quarterly basis, during scheduled breaks at DeKalb Central Schools.Registration forms are available below or can be picked up at the Library. Completed forms can be emailed to [email protected] or dropped off at the Library.We are pleased to be able to offer this class free of charge. Students attending the class should bring a lunch.

Their last appointment can be scheduled no later than 3:15 pm.The State of Indiana contracts with IDEMIA, which operates IdentoGO, to provide these services to area residents. Appointments must be made at www.identogo.com. Fees will be listed when scheduling and vary depending on which service is requested.

The Fort Wayne Children’s Choir will return to the Library to offer First Steps in Music, eight weeks of classes beginning Wednesday, March 11th.The classes will meet in the Assembly Room, which is located on the main level of the Main Library.There will be 8 weekly sessions for children ages 0-3 and their parent/caregiver. Participants will enjoy singing, creative movement, simple instruments, finger-plays, and more. Each class is designed to be playful and enjoyable to children while providing a carefully planned curriculum that includes developmentally appropriate activities.The class for children ages 0-3 will run from 11:30 am - 12:00 pm. (A class for children ages 3-5 will run from 12:00 - 12:30 pm and is a separate event on this calendar.)Space is limited, and registration is required for each individual session. Please register just the child or children who will be attending, not the adult. It will be assumed that children will be accompanied by their caregivers.

Eckhart Mobile Outreach Service (EMOS) deliveries are part of a flexible program that brings library materials to the homes of patrons, educators, and childcare providers. Deliveries are a free service provided by library staff and volunteers to people within DeKalb County.Deliveries occur every other Friday, and we'll pick up your previous materials when we drop off the new ones. To apply, visit epl.lib.in.us/emos.If you are unable to apply online you can also contact us by phone or email:260-925-2414 ext. [email protected] will be asked to fill out a short survey about what kinds of materials you would like to receive from Eckhart Public Library. This form can be printed, filled out in its entirety, and given to the driver. Teen Dungeons & Dragons has concluded our recent adventure and will be starting a new series of shorter adventures. Have you been interested in playing D&D but didn't know when to start? This new series will be a great time to jump in!Teens in middle and high school are welcome to join regardless of experience, and we have dice and pencils if you don't. Players will help decide what kind of content we do. They'll be able to craft their characters and choose how those characters fit into the world.
